Essentially, your bounce rate indicates the percentage of visitors that come onto your site and then quickly leave from the entrance page. This is not good for your analytics. You want the visitors to stay and browse for a while. How can you decrease a high bounce rate? The answer is simple. Here are four ways to make it happen.

Add More Pages

If you want to increase the amount of time visitors stay on your site, you need to have multiple pages for your visitors to browse through. This is essential to keeping your bounce rate low. When it comes to adding pages, you have to add quality rich content and products. If there isn’t something good on the other pages, there is no reason for the visitors to click through. This brings us to needing the right links and the right placement for them.

Your visitors don’t have ESP. You need to actually provide a path to the other pages so that your visitors know exactly where to go and how to get there. This makes it easier for users to navigate your site without getting frustrated and wanting to run away.

Reduce the Amount of Popups

One of the worst things you can do to your visitors is hitting with a lot of popups. No one wants to be reading something and then get bombarded with a random popup. Not only does this cause them to lose focus, but it is annoying as well. In order to keep your visitors focused on your site, you want to avoid having too many popups. You don’t have to do away with them altogether, but you want to make sure you limit them. It would be best to have some links to the side if you need that advertising revenue you get from popups.

Keep Your Speed Up

A slow website is just as bad as clicking out of unwanted popups. When your users are waiting forever for your pages to load, they are going to lose focus. No one likes going to a slow website that takes forever to load. If they aren’t getting what they want through your site, they are going to go elsewhere. Work on getting an optimal speed for your site so your users can enjoy clicking throughout your site.

Get Mobile

Your potential customers are probably browsing the Internet on their mobile devices. You need to ensure that your site is mobile friendly if you want to retain mobile customers. Talk to your website designer about adding this feature to your site.
