We are always looking for ways to be more secure, especially with our websites. If you didn’t know already, the entire month of October is called Cyber Security Awareness Month here in the United States. We don’t usually post about cyber security but figured that we can do our part and inform our readers on how to protect themselves. We caught a great article from a company called Curricula. Curricula is a security awareness training company that wrote an interesting article on this very special month of October. So we encourage you to take a look at their article and learn more about what you can do to get involved this month. Use #CyberAware and share this post or any other security tips on social media.
If you are running a WordPress website, you have a lot of options with themes, plugins, and other technologies to integrate with your site. We highly recommend taking a look at just doing some of the basic things for security. One of the easiest is using a strong password for your administrator account. Think about it, your administrator account is the keys to the castle when it comes to WordPress. You want to make sure you are using a difficult to guess, long password to protect your site.
We also try and use HTTPS when setting up any type of secure order forms. You don’t want people just filling out your order forms with their personal information without an HTTPS. You can do this buy getting an SSL on your site. Contact your website host or service provider and they should be able to help you out.
We hope this helps give you a little more background on Cyber Security Awareness Month and remind you to always stay secure with all of your websites out there!
