Though it’s easy to get yourself wrapped up in the business and economic side of your strategy, such as marketing, one of the most important things to remember as a website owner is being able to attract strangers to the site, and have your traffic continue to grow instead of remain at a steady number or slowly decline.
Attracting people to your website is a part of your marketing strategy, which you do not want to forget about, as it is this organic traffic, which really feeds your business. There are plenty of ways to do it, and if you’re finding trouble for generating traffic, you might want to go back to the basics.
Here’s a distinction you might want to drill into your head when considering this basic tip—search engine optimization isn’t for the search engine itself, but for the people behind the search engine. Improving your search engine optimization will drive people to your site, because once you have learned how to optimize your site for this, the search engine will consider you SEO-friendly.
When you look at certain social media websites, like Twitter or Instagram, you will soon come to realize that it is all about the hashtag. If the user or original poster uses the right hashtag, the hashtag will start trending, the post will be found and receive more traffic, and so on and so forth. This is how keywords work for given websites.
